Our first taste of gorgeous on a lake!
We left Orlando and were to headed Hunstville, AL to spend Thanksgiving with my parents. We decided to stop at a state park. It wasn’t exactly on our way but it seemed like a nice place to explore. Wind Creek State Park is situated along Martin Lake. When we arrived, there was still plenty of daylight. The lots are very spacious with plenty of room to get comfortable. The lake at the moment was very low, it gave the kids had a great time exploring the edges of the lake.
Only spending one night here, we didn’t get a chance to check out any of the facilities. We did pass a nice playground on the way to our lot though. At the time of our visit, the weekend before Thanksgiving, there were LOTS of kids! One of them even grabbed his fishing rod and went down to the lake and my kids just sat and watched him fish. I don’t recall him catching anything though.
Wind Creek State Park has very wide and long lots as well as wide roads that were great for maneuverability.
If you have been to Wind Creek State Park or plan to in the future, let us know your thoughts.
